I Shot with a wb for a little while and was happy with it but decided to try a fall away. Once I got my bow tuned with the drop away rest I am very pleased (why) because I was shooting 4" vane arrows and they were getting rippled with the WB , I also shoot the 2" blazers which the WB had no effect on. I just always believe in get my own experience instead of what someone told me for first hand experience because you may not have the same opinion. So if you like the WB then stay with it. Thumb Up

I could not get my drenaline with a whammy on to give me good arrow flight downrange. It just would not tune. I was getting great groups, but the arrow flight looked like crap. After a couple weeks of screwing with the whammy, 3 different arrow spines and fletching combos, I finally tossed a biscuit on there and 10 minutes later it was launching perfect arrows downrange.

67#, 29" easton epics, 100gr points, blazer's glued on with a right helical clamp on top of wraps. I couldn't be happier with the WB. And for a pure hunting standpoint, it's absolutely idiot proof in the bush or blind. No rattling or falling off... As for accuracy, it's shooting consistent 3" groups spot on target at 40 yards...good enough for me...

I love my WB. I had a arrow fall off a TM Hunter rest one time while I was letting my bow back down. My arm was tired of holding it back as I was waiting for a deer to turn broadside. The few fps loss is worth the security for me. Peace

Im glad to know the loss of speed is minimal, but has anyone done an accuracy comparison say over 100 shots fired or something of that nature, im more concerned with accuracy than speed. Big Smile

Wish I could quote you what article and which magazine, but I can't I read an article where the writer was extremely surprised. He began the test with "debunking' in mind, and came to a completely different conclusion.

I shot one fo a couple of years and was very pleased with it.

I have been using the trophy ridge drop-away rest for three years and have had no issues with it, however after dropping a few arrows over the years, and worrying about keeping a finger on the arrow before I would draw during a hunt has become too annoying. Today I bought a WB and fine tuned my bow...seems to work great.

The few deer I have harvested with my drop away had the arrow blowing clear through the deer...I think a few less FPS wont make that big of a difference...spliting hairs as far as I am concerned...bottom line, use what you like...with a Matthews, if you hit it in the vitals...it will go down. Thumb Up

I used the WB and it worked fine. The only concern I had with it is the noise it makes as you draw the arrow across the whiskers. Sometimes deer would look up at me in the tree because of the noise it made. That is the only reason I changed over to the Muzzy zero effect.

Put some wax on the blackthreads. Mine made that noise but the wax fixed it.

Nice job Dude, I had read a similar article that indicated, in a nut shell, that
the WB has little (their findings) or negligible impact on the arrow f.p.s.

One of the Mathew's engineers (Symo? Typotux shrug ) made the same assertion. I generally accept his say-so (if it was him) as factual.

i recently changed from wb to a ripcord. shot the whisker biscuit for a few years and i slowly pulledthe arrow through the bisuit aftershootig it a few shots and noticed that some of the bristles were over lapping one another in a place where one of the vanes were going to pass through. and it seemed like when that vane hit the spot were the bristles were over lapping, it seemed like the arrow was getting pulled into the direction in which the vane was passing through th over lapped section. now i have shot the bicuit for about 4 years, and dont get me wrong, it did the lob, but the over lapping has got to affect the arrow flight, because the arrow was being pulled in one direction more than the others. im not trying to change anybodys mind about the wb. but just try it out, and see what yall think. i know shoot a ripcord. it perfoms basically the same but with better accuracy. ( i gianed 4 or 5 feet by changing. i dont remenber) the ripcord is a very quiet rest but it also makes that same noise when drawing bac. just maybe not quite as much but some heat shrink tubing takes care of that.i dont want to pick on the ones that swear by the wb, but thare was a big improvement on accuracy at farther yardages. maybe this helps change some minds or atleast makes someone more knowlegable

I lose 2 FPS with the Biscuit compared to some drop aways I have. I use the meduim biscuit with acc 3-49's so there is space open around the arrow. I use 2" Blazer vanes with a dap of glue at the leading edge of the vanes. I was able to get perfect bullet holes with the Biscuit on my DXT. Also my broadheads (slick Tricks) hit right with my field points. I see no damage to my vanes shooting with the biscuit. I was a Biscuit hater for a long time but decided to try one instead of bashing them which is only fair. Now everytime I buy a drop away to try I end up back to the biscuit (for hunting). I still think if you have good form and release you can shoot the biscuit very accurately. I will galdly give up the 2 FPS for the benefits of the biscuit while hunting.

I shot the WB for close to 2 years with nothing but good luck. Although now I have a drop away on my DXT. Blazers are definitely better they don't seem to tear up in the WB near as fast IMHO. My son has a WB on his Browning Micro Adrenaline. They are great on youth bows.

Thanks for the information. I just walked out of the store yesterday with my new DXT and my new WB. Very happy with both. Glad to know the WB is having no adverse affect. Peace

I used to use the wb on my switchback (28inch 70 lb.) but when I changed to small diameter axis arrows I had trouble with the arrows actually getting pushed into the biscuit and flying terrible. I tried some other biscuits and could not get it to work. I now use the ripcord and it works fine. I like the biscuit, even put one on my sons Q2 but he only shoots 50lb. I think with higher poundage and small diameter arrows the biscuit does not hold up..........anybody else have this problem?

Big Smile First of welcome to the Forum Thumb Up

We have many shooters here using the WB with bows in the 70-73 lb range with none of the problems you just described, the small Dia shafts like the Axis ST should use the Small biscuit..

A properly tuned bow of 73 lbs will not shoot any different thru the WB than from a 50 Lb properly tuned bow..

Thumb Up
Neil

Very nice post and thanks for the time spent doing this test m8.
I been shooting WB for sometime now and love it, I am one of the old timers that dont put all my marbles into speed but good tuned right equipment.
Drop away rest are nice I feel for the 3d range but for out in the stand rugged hunting the WB earns all my respect cause I know when I nock the arrow it is going to stay there and not make noise when the moment counts.
Great thing about this site is the many different thoughts and advise you can read here from tried and true hunters.
