Okay, if you want to join in. Log in this week, on this thread with:

Current Weight
Goal for 12/31/06

If I reach my goal by year's end, and there are those that want to run at it again, I'll stay with it.

Now 168
12/31/06 - 160

I have been trying to eat right and exercising for what seems forever. My one vice is having a bowl of ice cream at night. These last eight pounds I think are going to take a little bit of time and less ice cream. I think I am more prepared for Colorado this year than other years. Years past it was hunt hard for 2/3 days and then poop out.

Now 260... Worried
Goal: Dont really want to set a goal, I'd like to get down to below 200 eventually. But that will be well beyond the end of the year!

Hey bud you gotta start somewhere Thumb Up
Take it in smaller chunks say 230 by the end of the year. I set weekly goals and concentrate on making them reality and before long youve met your long term goal.

Even 5 lbs a month can be challenging after the first one or two. So keep your goals realistic. What you have to do is figure out what it takes to achieve your goal, and see if it's worth the cost. If you go through that process thoughtfully, and after some reflection determine the goal is worth the cost, schedule it, and you'll get it done Thumb Up But it's got to be your goal, not somebody elses, and it's got to be worth the price.

Now: 255 (Don't have a scale and thats what I weighed in at a couple of weeks ago, close enough?)
12/31/06: 225 (Think I can afford to lose more but try to lose this then go from there.)

Does anyone have any good diet/exercise plans out there they could post up? I have tried making my own diet plan but get comfused when it says have so many of this and so many of that, etc. etc. Thanks

I would like to be at about 200 or 210 by December. I have been looking at some sensible ways to alter my eating habbits so I hope that is going to help with losing some weight.

Here is an online body fat calculator...
http://www.he.net/~zone/prothd2.html

I dont know my waist size (i'm at work, but guessing) So according to this, I have 41% body fat and need to get to 176 lbs! Yikes! But I couldnt agree more!
I did Atkins a couple years ago, and lost 70lbs and I walked a LOT! But I gained it all beck, Atkins was killing my innerds, and I cant help thinking that that diet was plain bad. So it's gonna be cereal in the morning, lots of fruit during the day, maybe tuna at lunch, and a normal sized meal at dinner. and back to the gym. However this is gonna be rough with hunting season on the doorstep! (See i'm already making excuses!) Big Smile

Thought I might chime in here a bit.

I've struggled my whole life with overeating. Not under-excercising, just eating too much.

I've tried about everything there is to try, diet wise, and I really believe that Weight Watchers is the only way to do effectively. All of the rest just get ya down and you are left to go back up again.

WW can be an ongoing thing. It helps you realize it's okay to occasionally cheat, and to eat what you want.....as long as you make up for it at some other time. Forget the meetings, just get the info on the program and do it yourself. You'll learn in short time what tastes good and how to use the system.

I've been using it (it is the second time) and I'm down 21 lbs. I started June 10 at 255 and I'm at 234. Looking to reach 210 by December. Playing racquetball three times a week helps too!

Hey there guys, glad to see you doing this, like I said earlier, I have lost 80 lb's, it is not easy changing your life style, but it can be done. Some tips if you would like.
Don't eat past 6:00 pm, gives your body time to digest your food, and your not sleeping on a full belly.
Drink lots of water. A big trick for me was when I would feel hungry, I would drink a glass of water. Helps your stomach feel like it is full.
If you drink soda, cut way down on it. I don't drink coffee, and when I was real heavy, I always had a soda. Now I have one in the morning, and that is it.
Excercise, I know this sounds hard, but I made time to start running. You have to start slow, and don't overdo it, but this will be the fastest way to drop weight. People always say they don't have time. I made time. I run on my lunch, I run after dinner, the point is, I did it.
Set some goals for yourself. I took a picture of myself with my shirt off, and everytime I had a moment of weekness, I would look at that picture.
If there is anyway that I can help anyone, please ask me. I am not an expert, but I was in your shoes, and know it is hard. Good luck to everyone.

Congrats on your weight lose!

Thanks for your inspiring words thats the kind of support we need.
I have to agree with you running is a great way to lose those extra pounds. I`ve taken it up but man it`s not natural for me, Ive always been a sprinter not a runner.

I had a 1lb gain at WI (Weigh In), but that was actually a loss. I weighed in on Wednesday mornings all summer, but had to switch to Monday evening (tonight) because the school year is starting and I had to go back as of today. Considering you weigh 2 to 4 pounds more at night, I'll consider a 1lb gain as a good thing.
