Hey team... well I have some good news finally!!! I smoked two does this morning. They were about 10 minutes apart from eachother. The first one was a perfect double lunger and the second one was a bit far back. The arrow smelled funny and was brown so I thought. I backed out and took care of the first one that was dead only 50 yards away. Went to the deli, got some breakfast then went back out with my brothers. We followed blood all the way to a cliff and guess who lay at the bottom of the clilff? My doe lol Pics and complete story will be up later. I have to go work a 7 hour shift at the supermarket starting at 1PM. Been up since 4:15AM.. should be interesting Laughing Laughing Thumb Up

WTG Squirrelhunter!!! All those "Nickels" count up.

The dew was heavy on the beans this morning. So I went hunting for a couple hours. I had a nice 10 point come thru just inside the corn. It would have been a 22 yd. shot. I passed. He walked passed my stand, then a 9 point came running in to challenge him. I watch while they sparred for a few seconds. The bigger 10 point turned , back tracked and came within 7 yds. of my stand. Again, I had to force myself not to shoot.

The 9 point swung out around the trees, circled back and walked directly under my stand. Again, I bit my lip and didn't shoot. I would like to see either deer in a couple of years. They just need time to grow up. That's the hardest part about hunting an area where you know there are some great bucks. The funny thing is, it's still a good rush!!! WOW, for the heart pounding action. Love Love

I was hoping to get the 10 point on camera, but didn't. He was a beautiful dark horned buck. I did get the little 9 point. He just needs time.

Pretty Awesome Bob. I like it when we pass on deer to let them grow. We don't all have monsters but passing on the little 3s, buttons, etc is good. No meat in the freezer but good.

I got out a little later than I wanted to last night and got the climber hung in the stand but never did see anything. Went back in there this morning and again saw nothing. I decided to get down and move my climber and I found a scrape on the edge of a soybean field. I got everything hung up in the tree and I'm going to go back out this evening. I will most likely hunt this area for the rest of my time here because there was sign everywhere in that field.

Hey Nathan, how did that work out???? Question Question I quit harvesting early today, just cause it is Sunday. Gotta share my time with the Big Guy. Praying So I decided to best honor him by spending some time in a tree stand reflecting on things. Went to my best (never fail) stand. Didn't see a thing. Well, I really relaxed, must have needed that. Looking forward to a new week. Peace

Great Picture!! Just curious, how are you folks required to tag your deer? Here, we have to attach the tag around a back leg. To me, it looks like yours are on the ears???? My wife wants to know what kind of truck that is. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Bob.. the tag has to be attached to the carcass as soon as you get the deer to means of transportation or where it is going to be butchered. Whichever comes first. Back leg or ear doesn't matter. Or antlers, leg or ear on a buck. As long as it is on the animal. It used to be attach it as soon as you find the deer dead, but too many lost their tags in the woods dragging the deer out, so NYSDEC ended up changing it after too many summons were written with the same legit alibi.

BTW I just posted the story and everything in the Bowhunting Forum:

While your washing dishes Bob, I'll watch for that Big Buck "for you". Whistle But, it that Unicorn Buck walks by first, I might just lose control and let one fly. Laughing Laughing Laughing

You guys would be proud of me. In Ohio, I had my bow drawn on a 6 point, and decided to wait. I was proud of me, because there is a one-buck limit in Ohio.

Last night I had three does jog by one of my stands. However, I was at a new spot about 100 yards away. Nice to watch the three does.

Browtines and I will be in the woods in the morning.
